Registration 2018 open!

On Sunday 21 October 2018 the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam will once again host the start and finish of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon. As usual, there are three race distances to choose from: the TCS 8K, the Mizuno Half Marathon and the TCS Marathon. All three distances promise a spectacular fast course through the capital. The 43rd edition of the event is expected to attract more than 45,000 participants from more than 115 countries.

TCS Marathon

Signing up for the full marathon distance? Then you will be there at 09:30 when the starting pistol rings out in the Olympic Stadium, where today’s Olympic flame was lit for the first time back in 1928. From here, the course leads through the heart of the Rijksmuseum and the Vondelpark and along the river Amstel. The programme also includes the National Marathon Race Championships for Dutch top athletes.

Mizuno Half Marathon

With 18,500 participants, the Mizuno Half Marathon is the largest half marathon in the Netherlands. If you run this distance, the course also leads you through the heart of the Rijksmuseum and the Vondelpark. The race sets off from Stadionweg near the Olympic Stadium at 13:30.

For those who prefer to run a shorter distance yet still want to experience the atmosphere of the marathon there is the TCS 8K. Like the marathon itself, this race also takes you through the heart of the Rijksmuseum and the Vondelpark. The TCS 8K sets off from Stadionweg at 10:10. For this distance the number of entrants is limited to 7,000.

Finish in the Olympic Stadium

All three distances lead to the finish line in the Olympic Stadium. From Stadionweg onwards hordes of spectators cheer you on to the finish. The flags of all nationalities taking part create an impressive backdrop as you run along the forecourt, through the Marathon Gate and into the stadium. The last few metres of the course are probably the most impressive of all, with the sound of the crowds in the stands cheering you on and the finish line in sight! This is the moment you spent months training for.
